Cowboy Jack Rydell watches the strange woman pull onto his ranch and knows that trouble has come to his three brothers, his two sons, and most of all: to himself.

When Erin Poletti arrives at the Rydell River Ranch in River’s End, Washington, looking to stay with her hated brother Chance, she never intends for it to be anything more than a pit stop on the way to the rest of her life. After her mother’s suicide, Erin has no choice but to seek out her brother where he works as a ranch hand, as she is left penniless, homeless and for reasons she will share with no one; without the basic skills to navigate her life.

However, no one distrusts her motives or dislikes her more than widower Jack Rydell.

But unforeseen circumstances leave Erin nearly destitute on the ranch, and finally reveals the secret Erin has desperately hidden. And only then, does Jack finally begin to know the woman whose presence has so altered his life. Eventually, Erin finds a job, and starts to work with Jack and his horses in order to repay the debts she feels she owes him. But the longer Erin is there Jack begins to wonder if he can resist the woman he now knows, despite everything that stands between them.

"I love this author. Her new series has unconventional characters with such emotional depth. I've read western romances before and was curious when I saw Leanne was going to write a series about a family of cowboys who lived on a ranch. It seemed like such a departure from anything I've ever read from her and wondered if it would still have a gut-wrenching story and characters that are so heartbreaking with their past and current situations. Well I shouldn't have worried, the heroine, Erin Poletti, life has to be one of the saddest I've ever read." --Cindy,SnS Reviews

"I am amazed with the way this author writes - so realistic, including all the nitty gritty that most people don't want to include. I found myself questioning where the story was going - but that is a good thing! It wasn't obvious, and definitely kept me intrigued to the very end. You'll definitely love the story of Erin and Jack, and all the rest of the characters you are introduced to in this book!" -Leeanna, BookbubReviews

"I love how nothing is rushed in her story lines. It's never boy meets girl, girl meets boy - they fall in love, BAM! they're getting married. Everything progresses so well and she builds the story, characters and the plot exceptionally. Jack is the hard working, serious hero and I loved everything about him. Erin broke my heart through the whole book, yet made me smile for her strong will and personality." -Hochi,Goodreads Reviewer

"10 stars! AMAZING. This book completely exceeded my expectations! I LOVEDIT. If you are fan of slow burn romance, You must read it." -Parizad, Goodreads Reviewer*"Y'ALL...this is one of my favorite series. I can't believe more people haven't jumped on the bandwagon. I don't review books anymore because, well, real life got in the way, but I strongly encourage all the romance readers out there to give this one a shot! It's one of my favorites. Great heroes. Great chemistry. Give it a try! :) XOXO." -Morgan, Goodreads Reviewer

"A traumatized life leads to love. This book just seemed to get better and better, from beginning to end. I loved the character of Jack, a man that tried to be perfect, but realized that he was only as human as everyone of his brothers. Erin was a woman that had lived a hard life, with her drug-addicted mother, and she had no self-esteem. They meet and don't realize that they were meant to fall in love." -Frances,Goodreads Reviewer

"All the feels. This book was so good! At several times I was sobbing while reading then laughing out loud." -Jami, Goodreads Reviewer

"I'm smitten. I got lost in this book. Erin's entire story had me rooting for her...flaws and all. I picked up the story and read it every free moment I had and when i wasn't able to read it, I found myself pondering what the next part if the story would be." -Tami,Goodreads Reviewer

“Dad! Stop. She’s not like that.”

“Oh, I don’t know about that,” Jack said as he started to approach her. She stepped back after seeing the rage directed toward her in Jack’s eyes. How easily he could think that of her.
“She can’t read.”
Jack stopped and his mouth opened. No one said a word. Ben came closer, his tone quieter now that the entire room was staring at him. Erin closed her eyes and dropped her head down toward the table. In her whole life, she’d never felt so humiliated or miserable.
She sat down, now that the entire fight was over.
Ben continued, “I’ve been helping her fill out job applications. She can’t do it alone. She can write down what needs to be written, if given enough time, but she can’t read it. That’s why she doesn’t have a job yet. That’s also why you can’t kick her out of here. Where would she go?”
She felt Jack looking at her. “Okay, Ben. Okay, we’ll take care of this. Get back to school now.”
“Promise me, Dad, you won’t let anything happen to her.”
“I promise, Ben. Now go.”
She refused to look up or acknowledge what was happening. She couldn’t bear to see the pity and disgust in all of the Rydells’ faces.
